The 'Blinding Lights' hitmaker has already picked up three coveted accolades out of his six nominations at the upcoming June Awards in native country of Canada.

AceShowbiz - The Weeknd is off to a winning start at the 2021 Juno Awards after picking up three prizes in the lead up to Sunday's (06Jun21) main ceremony.
The R&B superstar led all nominees with six, and he claimed a trio of accolades on Friday (04Jun21), during a virtual event which served as the first night of the annual prizegiving.
He nabbed Single of the Year for "Blinding Lights" while his album "After Hours" was named Contemporary R&B Recording of the Year and he shared the Songwriter of the Year honour with his collaborators Belly, aka Ahmad Balshe, and Jason 'DaHeala' Quenneville.
The Weeknd will compete for three more accolades at Sunday's event, including Album of the Year for "After Hours" and Artist of the Year.
Friday's Juno Opening Night Awards Presented by Music Canada also gave DJ/producer Kaytranada a reason to celebrate as he became the first black male solo artist to win Dance Recording of the Year for "Bubba" while WondaGurl, aka Ebony Naomi Oshunrinde, made history as the first black woman to score the Jack Richardson Producer of the Year award.
There were additional awards for Alanis Morissette (Adult Contemporary Album of the Year for "Such Pretty Forks in the Road"), JJ Wilde (Rock Album of the Year for "Ruthless"), Jessie Reyez (Music Video of the Year for "No One's in the Room"), Tenille Townes (Country Album of the Year for "The Lemonade Stand"), and Harry Styles, whose "Fine Line" release landed International Album of the Year.
The remainder of the prizes for the 2021 Juno Awards, organised by officials at the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, will be announced on Sunday night.
