Expressing his love for Eric Philip during an appearance on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show', the 'America's Got Talent' judge gushes that his 7-year-old is 'the most amazing thing that ever happened' to him.

AceShowbiz - Simon Cowell is candidly opening up about the effect of him being a father. Seven years after welcoming his son Eric Philip with girlfriend Lauren Silverman, the "America's Got Talent" judge admitted that fatherhood brought out his "vulnerable little side."

Making an appearance on the Wednesday, May 26 episode of "The Kelly Clarkson Show", the 61-year-old opened up how becoming a father made him create a series of children's books with his 7-year-old boy. "I love that. That's the juxtaposition of you doing this is so great for me. You're like a different dude with a child," Kelly Clarkson told him.

"I think the vulnerable little side of you came out when you had a kid," Kelly added. Agreeing to the "Because of You" singer's statement, Simon responded, "Maybe." He elaborated further by saying, "After I lost my parents, I genuinely felt, Kelly, I would never feel that kind of love for anyone ever again. I thought that was it … until I saw the scan of him for the first time."

The executive producer of "America's Got Talent" then continued, "From that moment I saw the scan, I was like 'That is it, I'm besotted.' Now I just cannot imagine my life without him." Gushing over his son, he went on to say, "He's the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. I adore him."

On his children books project, Simon told the "American Idol" alum, "It's been brilliant." He revealed he never had the thought of doing such a father-son duo deal with Hachette Children's Group for a seven-book series titled "Wishfits" about these "magical and unusual" creatures. "I never thought I would do something like this," he confessed.

The music mogul will soon be back in the judges' chair for "America's Got Talent". He took a break from the show due to his electric bike accident and hospitalization in August 2020. At the time, he had to undergo six hours of surgery on his spine after breaking his back. He underwent pool therapy and walked over 40 miles a week to help with his rehabilitation.
