Addressing why he decided to skip the singing competition finale, the singer/songwriter encourages his online fans not to put the blame on the show because the issues 'were there long before.'

AceShowbiz - Athur Gunn has finally revealed the reason why he left "American Idol". Just one day after Chayce Beckham took home the winning title, the former contestant claimed he exited the singing competition due to the "unpleasant environmental experiences."

The 23-year-old, who was scheduled to perform a duet with Sheryl Crow on the show finale, offered his explanation via Instagram on Monday, May 24. "Well, let's just say I missed my opportunity to sing with legendary @sherylcrow . what happened is not much to discuss at this point. I would like to make it up and invite @sherylcrow to perform couple of songs on the July 30th at @thecotillion," he began.

"It was last minute decision but I couldn't help but say no cause of some personal morals and values due to unpleasant environmental experiences," the nepal Native added. "It's not necessary to state it, it is what it is, so I felt like I had to move on, It's not the show @americanidol to blame, they were there long before nor anyone related to show. I'm grateful for @americanidol for have given me this platform and helped me to reach out to you all, sometimes things happens and it happens for a reason I guess."

Before concluding his message, Arthur apologized to his fans for disappointing them with his sudden exit. "I feel upset about it as much as all you might have, and I'm sorry if I did let down anyone," he wrote, before adding, "But I felt like all these confrontations didn't need to happen at the show, so I just had to move on from there, sometimes all we can do is move on!!!"

Arthur made it to the top seven in "American Idol" season 19. He, however, was not the only contestant who dropped out of the show. In April, Wyatt Pike left the show due to "personal reasons." One month later, Top 5 contestant Caleb Kennedy announced his departure after a video of him next to a friend wearing a Ku Klux Klan hood surfaced online.

"Hey y'all, this is gonna be a bit of a surprise but I am no longer gonna be on 'American Idol'," Caleb penned on Instagram. "There was a video that surfaced on the internet and it displayed actions that were not meant to be taken in that way. I was younger and did not think about the actions, but that's not an excuse."
