While sharing the first picture of her new baby boy with husband David Foster, the 'American Idol' alum gushes about her motherhood journey, stating, 'I love being a mommy.'

AceShowbiz - Katharine McPhee is sharing her joy of being a first-time mother. More than a week after she was revealed to have welcomed her first child with husband David Foster, the "American Idol" alum treated her online fans to the first glimpse of their newborn son.
On Saturday, March 6, the 36-year-old singer turned to Instagram Story to post a picture of herself cradling her baby boy during a walk. In the accompanying message, she gushed, "In case you were wondering… I love being a mommy."
The former "Smash" star gave birth to her new bundle of joy in late February. She and her music mogul husband, however, have yet to reveal the name of the baby.
Katharine and David first met in 2006 when she was competing on "American Idol". Her music producer husband appeared as a guest mentor. They got engaged in 2018 after the 71-year-old got divorced from Yolanda Hadid. The pair tied the knot later in June 2019.
Earlier in March 2021, Katharine opened up about her reluctance to date David due to their 35-year-old age gap. When speaking on Dr. Berlin's "Informed Pregnancy" podcast, she first divulged, "It didn't just happen overnight. We had a real journey and I had a real process."
"It took me a while to kind of come around to really want to have a real, serious relationship because I was very concerned with what people would think," she added. "We all have the ability to label things and to look at something for the way that it looks or face value and make a judgment. "
"So I totally get the judgment initially, but things are never as they appear, things are never exactly as they appear," the new mom went on. "And I'm in love with our love story and that's all that matters."
Katharine further emphasized that she did not marry David because of his money. "The perception of what people try to create, especially with women, it's always the woman's fault.It's the woman who wants to be with the older man because he has money and he's had success and she wants this, that," she explained. "I mean, our story's been the complete opposite."
