The Australian actress offers public support to her wife as 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' is facing investigation following multiple allegations of toxic workplace.

AceShowbiz - Portia De Rossi is showing her support for wife Ellen DeGeneres as she fights multiple accusations of mistreatment from current and former "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" employees.

Throughout the coronavirus lockdown, Ellen has been dragged through the media for the way she and her producers allegedly treat staff and she recently apologised for allowing such a toxic culture to exist on set.

Now, actress Portia is standing up for her wife, posting a photo with "I Stand by Ellen" written across it on Instagram on Monday (03Aug20).

De Rossi added, "To all our fans... we see you. Thank you for your support."

The post comes days after WarnerMedia bosses launched an internal investigation following a BuzzFeed News report in which 10 former Ellen employees and one current staff member claimed that they experienced racism, fear and intimidation at the daytime talk show.

DeGeneres' apology to her staff read, "On day one of our show, I told everyone in our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be a place of happiness - no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect. Obviously, something changed, and I am disappointed to learn that this has not been the case. And for that, I am sorry. Anyone who knows me knows it's the opposite of what I believe and what I hoped for our show."

She went on to note that her position as host didn't allow her to "stay on top of" the day-to-day running of the show, on which Ellen has built her brand. "I relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I'd want them done," she added.

"I'm also learning that people who work with me and for me are speaking on my behalf and misrepresenting who I am and that has to stop. As someone who was judged and nearly lost everything for just being who I am, I truly understand and have deep compassion for those being looked at differently, or treated unfairly, not equal, or - worse - disregarded. To think that any one of you felt that way is awful to me."
