A new animated movie of the New York mutated turtles based on the 'Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' comic book is currently being developed for the big screen.

AceShowbiz - The "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" are dusting off their masks for an animated big screen reboot for Nickelodeon.
Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver are set to produce the new computer-generated animated version of the hit franchise while Jeff Rowe will direct the film from a script by Brendan O'Brien.
The original 1987 TV series adaptation of the Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird-created comic book, about four mask-wearing turtles with superpowers living in the New York City sewer system, aired until 1996 and there have been six "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" films made since 1990. The last two outings, developed by Michael Bay, were released in 2014 and 2016.
"Adding Seth, Evan and James' genius to the humor and action that's already an integral part of TMNT is going to make this a next-level reinvention of the property," said Brian Robbins, President, Kids & Family for ViacomCBS in a statement to Deadline.
Bosses at Nickelodeon previously unveiled a 2D animated series version of the property last year (19) and are currently working with executives at Netflix to develop an original film based on the "Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" comic as part of a separate venture
