During an interview on Brett Goldstein's podcast Films to Be Buried With, the 'Basic Instinct' actress details the terrifying incident and what she had to go through in the aftermath.

AceShowbiz - Sharon Stone narrowly escaped death when she was struck by lightning in her own home.

The 62-year-old actress recalled the terrifying incident during an interview on Brett Goldstein's podcast Films to Be Buried With, as she remembered how she was filling her iron with water from her house's well when the strike occurred.

"I was filling the iron with water," Sharon said. "I had one hand on the faucet, one hand on the iron and the well got hit with lightning and the lighting came up through the water. I got picked up and thrown across the kitchen, and I hit the refrigerator."

The force of the shock knocked Sharon unconscious, and it was only when her mother hit her across the face that she woke up.

"My mother was standing there, and my mother just belted me across the face and brought me to," the Casino star remembered. "I was in such an altered state."

The "Basic Instinct" actress was then rushed to the hospital to undergo an electrocardiogram (EKG), which showed that she still had electricity running through her body.

"I had to go get EKGs every single day for 10 days," she said.

The incident wasn't the first time Sharon has escaped death, however. She also suffered a stroke in 2001, and told Goldstein: "I've had a lot of things... It's crazy."
