The 'Tron: Legacy' actress is seeking justice for a peaceful female protester who was shoved to the ground by a police officer during an anti-racism rally in New York.

AceShowbiz - Olivia Wilde is helping police officials in New York identify the cop who shoved a peaceful female protester to the ground during an anti-brutality rally on Friday night, May 29, 2020.

The actress and director retweeted footage of 20-year-old Dounya Zayer's encounter and informed followers the activist suffered a seizure after falling while calling on his bosses to take action against him.

Wilde also retweeted Zayer's explanation of her clash with the unidentified cop, "This is the officer. He threw my phone before throwing me. As you can see I was already backing up. All I asked was why."

The actress posted the footage again and added the caption, "This is the officer who slammed her to the ground for asking him why. Anybody recognize him?"

Zayer was among thousands protesting the death of unarmed African-American George Floyd at the hands of cops in Minneapolis on Monday, May 25, 2020. New York City officials have called for the officer who pushed her to the ground to be charged with assault. A New York Police Department spokesman has confirmed the officer is under investigation.

As violent protests spread across America over the weekend, New York's police officials have been targeted for their heavy-handed methods of crowd control - on Saturday footage of a police car driving into a crowd in Brooklyn as protesters descended on the vehicle went viral, prompting shock and outrage.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has ordered state Attorney General Letitia James to investigate police conduct after condemned a "disturbing" series of filmed clashes between cops and protesters on Friday night.
