On Monday, April 27, the 42-year-old took to Instagram to announce, "Instead of opening [Escobar Atlanta] up today we decided to feed the homeless." Along with it, he let out a video of him roaming the street outside his business venue while wearing mask and a pair of gloves.

Along with his partner Snoop Dillard, the "Rule the World" rapper fed a total of 120 people with butter garlic chicken pasta. They, per reported by TMZ, followed the COVID-19 guidelines by keeping people waiting in line six feet apart from each other. Additionally, he gave away free meals to people living in the street when he drove around the neighborhood.

A few days earlier, 2 Chainz and his partner announced plan to reopen of their joints Escobar Restaurant and Tapas after Georgia Governor Brian Kemp made a controversial decision that allow people to open non-essential businesses. The announcement, however, was quick to be met with criticism, prompting them to scrap it.

"After careful consideration, we are not going to open our restaurants on Monday. It has not officially been decided when we will start having dine-in service," Snoop told TMZ at the time.

2 Chainz himself seemingly hit back at the media when he shared photos of him feeding the homeless on Monday. "Doin my part to make a difference ! What you doin besides holding ya nuts on a young black entrepreneurs ???? What happen to the media today ??? Feeding the homeless ain't that interesting huh ?? SPIN CYCLE TONI," he wrote in the caption of the post.

Shortly afterward, Chainz informed fans and followers that he decided to "open for take out only." Alongside a series of photos capturing his joints' menu and pricelist, he wrote, "This week, The food options are endless!! Stay tuned to our page for the latest updates on our dine in opening."
