The actor, who starred in the troubled director's 2009 romance comedy 'Whatever Works', claims that reading 'Apropos of Nothing' makes it feel like one is in the same room with the filmmaker.

AceShowbiz - Larry David is standing by Woody Allen amidst accusations of child molestation. Two weeks after the quiet release of the "Annie Hall" filmmaker's controversial memoir, the star/creator of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" opened up about how he thought of "Apropos of Nothing", calling it a "fantastic" book.
In a profile interview for The New York Times, the 72-year-old comedian gushed, "Yeah, it's pretty great, it's a fantastic book, so funny." He elaborated his statement by explaining, "You feel like you're in the room with him and yeah, it's just a great book and it's hard to walk away after reading that book thinking that this guy did anything wrong."
"Apropos of Nothing" was published quietly on March 23 by Arcade Publishing, less than a month after Hachette Book Group decided to drop it from its release plan following a staged walk-out by its staff members. "After listening, we came to the conclusion that moving forward with publication would not be feasible for HBG," announced the publishing company at the time.
In the 400-page memoir, Allen stressed on his innocence as he delved with the molestation accusations thrown by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow. "I never laid a finger on Dylan, never did anything to her that could be even misconstrued as abusing her; it was a total fabrication from start to finish," the "Midnight in Paris" filmmaker stated.
"One of the saddest things of my life was that I was deprived of the years of raising Dylan and could only dream about showing her Manhattan and the joys of Paris and Rome," he went on stating. ''To this day, Soon-Yi and I would welcome Dylan with open arms if she'd ever want to reach out to us as Moses did, but so far that's still only a dream.''
Elsewhere in the memoir, the "A Rainy Day in New York" director also talked about his affair with his former partner Mia Farrow's adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn. Talking about the hatred he got from marrying the woman who is 35 years his junior, he said, "Sometimes, when the going got rough and I was maligned everywhere, I was asked if I had known the outcome, do I ever wish I never took up with Soon-Yi? I always answered I'd do it again in a heartbeat."
