During an appearance on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', the 'Jungle Cruise' star recalls what really happened after she received the Coldplay frontman's pitch for 'A Quiet Place' musical.

AceShowbiz - Emily Blunt forgot to respond to Coldplay star Chris Martin after he pitched her "A Quiet Place" musical as a joke.

The "Yellow" singer feared he had offended the actress and her husband John Krasinski, the writer and director of the thriller, when he didn't get feedback to his quirky idea - and he went public with his concerns earlier this year (2020).

Krasinski has since reached out via Instagram, insisting his wife never mentioned his note, and now Blunt is trying to make amends.

Appearing on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Monday, January 27, she said, "He sent us this very sweet, funny video of him miming Quiet Place the musical. I watched it at 11 o'clock at night next to John; we're about to go bed. I remember going, 'Oh, that's so sweet. That's so funny. I will write back in the morning'. I forgot to write back in the morning."

"A day goes by, then a week, then a month later, I'm like, 'Oh my God, I didn't write back to Chris Martin...!' I basically felt that I'd left it too late... so I just erased Chris Martin from my life... and I now deeply regret it because I now have to face the fact it was hurtful."

To make her TV apology as cringeworthy as possible, Emily sang it during her appearance on Ellen, stating, "It's sort of a way of me begging forgiveness. Chris, I love you. Always have, always will. I'm very sorry. And this is a massive sacrifice because I literally loathe singing in front of people."

Meanwhile, Blunt and Krasinski are now preparing to release the "A Quiet Place" sequel in March.
