The 'Lip Sync Battle' co-host is quick to defend bone broth after top doctor Jennifer Gunter took to Twitter to suggest those selling the benefits are scamming mums.

AceShowbiz - Chrissy Teigen is convinced bone broth aided her recovery from post partum depression.

The model and TV personality is championing broth, which is favoured by stars like Kourtney Kardashian and Gwyneth Paltrow, after top doctor Jennifer Gunter took to Twitter on Sunday (January 19) and suggested those selling the benefits are scamming mums.

"It is such an amazing scam to rename stock as bone broth, claim miraculous health benefits, and sell it for a small fortune," she wrote.

Teigen was quick to respond, insisting she sought out bone broth while struggling with her mental health after becoming a mum.

"Real bone broth is rich with marrow and deep flavor," she posted. "When I was suffering horribly from post partum depression, I was covered in bruises, had no energy and no ability to sleep. I attribute much of the physical aspect of getting better to bone broth."

She added, "Most broths suck and are capitalizing on the trend. But it hasn't been a trend for many people around the world, it's a common way of healing and life (especially Asia) - I remember waking up just trembling, bruised from even the gentlest hugs."
