In a new interview, Marta Kauffman is being pressed about circulating reports that suggested she, David Crane and the original cast have got together to discuss a possible reunion for HBO Max.

AceShowbiz - HBO's planned "Friends" reunion project is proving "complicated" for series co-creator Marta Kauffman to organise.

In November (19), reports suggested the cast, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer, along with creators Kauffman and David Crane, were discussing a possible reunion for streaming site HBO Max.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Kauffman confessed it's still in the very early stages.

"If it happens, we will certainly be involved in it - but I don't know," she said. "It's complicated... It's a very complicated thing to do."

Kevin Reilly, Chief Content Officer of HBO Max, also addressed the proposed project at the streaming service's Television Critics Association winter press event on Wednesday (January 15), explaining, "There's interest all the way around, and yet we can't seem to quite get that interest aligned to push the button on it."

He added, "Today, unfortunately, it's still a maybe."
