AceShowbiz - Rapper Method Man is reuniting with frequent song collaborator Mary J. Blige on TV to star in the planned "Power" spin-off series.
Blige signed on to front the cast of 50 Cent's new drama last summer (2019), and now Method Man, real name Clifford Smith Jr., has joined the line-up as a top attorney.
His character, Davis MacLean, is described by U.S. network bosses at Starz as a "brilliant, ethically challenged" attorney, who is drawn into a world "riddled with murder and drugs, where the only thing he's really addicted to is winning".
A launch date for "Power Book II: Ghost" has yet to be announced, but it will follow some of the events of the current sixth and final season of Power.
Method Man and Blige previously teamed up in the studio for the hip-hop classic "All I Need", and followed it up with additional collaborations like "I'll Be There for You" and "Love @ 1st Sight".
The Wu-Tang Clan star is no stranger to acting after appearing in TV dramas "The Wire", "Oz", and "The Deuce", as well as films like "Garden State", "How High", "Trainwreck", and "Keanu".
