In a magazine interview, the British songstress also slams the notion that she and her bandmates, who met in the 2011 season of 'The X Factor' U.K. version, are anything but fully supportive of each other.

AceShowbiz - Jade Thirlwall has credited her Little Mix bandmates for helping her overcome her struggles with an eating disorder.

The "Black Magic" hitmaker was anorexic for most of her teenage years, from 13 until 18 years old, and only recovered because of the support of Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Perrie Edwards.

Jade, 27, confessed it was her first magazine shoot with the group, which was formed on the 2011 season of U.K. talent contest "The X Factor", that gave her a "complex" when she realised her nose had been edited in the final snaps.

She told The Guardian newspaper: "Suddenly I thought: is that how I’m supposed to look? For years afterwards, I wanted a nose job, and then a boob job."

However, the Wings singer is now more confident in her appearance, and slammed the notion that she and her famous pals are anything but fully supportive of each other.

"People think that girl band members are competitive, but my saving grace was being put in a group where we supported each other and gave each other confidence boosts," she said.

It's not the first time the group have rallied around one of their members. Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie supported Jesy through her online trolling ordeal, as documented in the BBC programme "Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out", which aired in September (19).
