AceShowbiz - Julian Edelman has put himself in trouble with the law. The New England Patriots wide receiver was arrested on Saturday night, January 11, after causing an unspecified damage to someone's car in Beverly Hills, California by jumping on it despite reports he would need a knee surgery during the offseason.

A police spokesperson confirmed that the 33-year-old athlete was taken into custody "at approximately 9:00 P.M. for vandalism after he jumped onto a driver's vehicle causing damage." The representative added that he "was released on a citation and scheduled to appear at the Airport Courthouse on April 13, 2020."

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has yet to file charges against the Super Bowl LIII MVP, who was reported to have been drinking at the time of the incident. It is still unclear whose the damaged Mercedes belonged to, but the case won't go anywhere should the owner and the football star agreed to settle.

The arrest took place on the same night Julian had dinner with former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce and ex-Patriots receiver Danny Amendola. Sharing with his followers a moment from their boys night out, Pierce turned to Instagram to post a photo of them together. "@edelman11 @dannyamendola y'all know what it is," he wrote in the caption.

A spokesperson for Cantina Frida, the restaurant the trio visited that fateful evening, told the Boston Herald that Edelman was "polite and friendly" during the dinner.

In a related news, Julian has been reported to be needing two surgeries during the offseason to fix some injuries. One was said to repair a separated AC joint in his left shoulder, while another one would be to help with an issue on his left knee. Despite the injuries, he completed his 10th season in the NFL with 1,117 receiving yards on 100 catches and six touchdowns.
