The former NBA player hops out of his car and comes to the rescue after noticing a woman passed out on the ground while he's driving through the East Village.

AceShowbiz - Shaquille O'Neal can now add real-life hero to his set of accomplishment in life. On Monday, January 6, the four-time NBA champion was caught on camera coming to aid a woman who passed out in the middle of a crosswalk in New York City.

The 47-year-old Hall of Famer was heading to the East Village when he spotted the female lying on the ground in the intersection at Pitt Street and East Houston. In a video obtained by TMZ, he could be seen helping to stop the traffic alongside a number of other good Samaritans while waiting for an ambulance to arrive.

Despite being honked around by other motorists, the former Los Angeles Lakers player did not leave his spot until the EMTs arrived. The video captured him shaking hand with a medical personnel before heading back to his awaiting car. The woman, who was speculated to have suffered a diabetic attack, was reportedly taken to a nearby medical facility.

This was not the only time Shaq displayed his kindness to strangers. Back in October 2019, he provided a relief to an Atlanta family whose son, Isaiah Payton, was left paralyzed by a stray bullet. Since the 12-year-old was not allowed to go home because his family's home was not equipped to his needs, the basketball icon found them a new house and committed to pay its first year rent.

In an interview about his act of giving, Shaq told The A-Scene, "No mother should have to go [through] that." Claiming that he wanted to help Isaiah's mom, Allison Woods, to "get back on her feet", he explained further, "I was watching the story and it's just sad. It could have been any one of us … it could have been my son."

As for the January 6 incident, O'Neil was not the only hero on that particular day. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has also lent a hand in a separate mishap. When leaving an event for A Better New York, the politician came across a car involved in an accident on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway. He jumped in to help pulled out a man trapped by his seat belt in the vehicle.
