Harper's Magazine editor Violet Lucca agreed with film critic K. Austin Collins after the latter tweeted about how much Blue Ivy resembles her father and he felt sorry for her.

AceShowbiz - Two journalists are taking the heat after mocking Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z's daughter Blue Ivy. Vanity Fair film critic K. Austin Collins and Harper's Magazine editor Violet Lucca quickly experienced the repercussion of their actions after they tweeted about the 7-year-old's resemblance to her father.

"I have a feeling the jay z face genes are about to really hit Blue Ivy and I feel so sorry for her," K. Austin wrote in a now-deleted tweet, after Blue was featured in photos with her mother Bey and Megan Thee Stallion at what appeared to be a new year party.

Agreeing with K. Austin, Violet chimed in, "Or she'll just get plastic surgery at 16 a la Kylie Jenner and we'll all have to pretend that she always looked that way. I can't allow myself to feel too sorry for the incredibly rich!"

It didn't take long for fans to catch the wind of their cruel joke about Blue and some Twitter users slammed the two writers for their tweets. "These are not children being rude. @melvillmatic & @unbuttonmyeyes are two full grown adults in positions of cultural influence who decided that they wanted to start the year by attacking a child. Later, when the mealy mouthed apologies come, I want you to think about this choice," author Mikki Kendall tweeted.

K. Austin then backtracked on his earlier comment about Blue and posted, "I'm sorry about the Blue Ivy tweet - bad joke, and black girls in particular deserve better."

Violet also apologized, writing, "Sorry I was cleaning my apartment while this blew up...children of famous ought to be off limits, but time and again they haven't been. So I said something petty and have been called ugly, old, and a racist."

When someone wrote to her, "you don't get to play victim here. it was more than 'petty' it was antiblack and violent to talk about a CHILD that way. so yeah, being called racist when you're perpetuating racist ideals is the least of your issues here. reflect on that," Violet explained, "I'm not playing the victim..." She apologized once again as she added, " sorry that I insulted Beyonce's daughter by suggesting that she might get plastic surgery some day, like many children of famous people do."

Beyonce and Jay-Z themselves have not responded to the rude jokes about their daughter. The mother of three, instead, posted on Instagram a video to cap off 2019. The video includes never-before-seen photos and footage of her twins, Sir and Rumi.
