AceShowbiz - The hip-hop community mourned in March as iconic musician Nipsey Hussle passed away on March 31. He was shot to death at the parking lot in front of the rapper's The Marathon Clothing store in the Hyde Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles. The 33-year-old was hit multiple times in the abdomen and head before later being pronounced dead at the hospital.

Following an investigation, police named Eric Holder as the suspected gunman. Eric was then arrested on April 2 in the L.A. suburb of Bellflower, Calif., and was placed in solitary confinement in jail. He was charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. During his arraignment hearing on April 4, through his attorney Christopher Darden, he pleaded not guilty.

Following his death, the later rapper was later honored at the BET Award which was held on June 23 at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. Presented by T.I., the award was received by his girlfriend Lauren London and Hussle's family, including his son and daughter, Kross and Emani. "I just want to thank you guys for all of the love and support and the marathon continues again," Lauren said during the speech. Additionally, a couple of musicians, such as John Legend and DJ Khaled, took the stage to deliver an emotional music tribute to Hussle.
