AceShowbiz - Hailey Baldwin is opening up about the fake drama between her and Justin Bieber's ex Selena Gomez. The two women were previously pit against each other when the latter released her song "Lose You to Love Me", which was inspired by her past romance with Justin. In her new interview, Hailey said that social media played a big role in the mess.
"I think social media is a breeding ground for toxicity and people creating false drama between women and trying to put women up against each other and create these narratives that are just… toxic," the 23-year-old model revealed to British Vogue in an interview which was published on December 4. "I think that has to change and that has to stop."
Hailey was rumored to be shading Selena by sharing a screencapture of her listening to Summer Walker's "I'll Kill You" on her Instagram account. However, the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin was quick to shut down the speculations, calling it "bulls**t." Selena also reminded her social media followers to be kind and avoid "tearing other women down." She added, "I don't like seeing people being disrespectful or rude to other people, so please don't do that."
Showing support for Selena, the model previously was caught liking an Instagram picture of Selena celebrating her new music back in October. It was a polaroid photo of Selena and their mutual friend Raquelle Stevens as they were joined by two more girl pals Ashley Cook and Courtney Lopez.
Additionally, Hailey made sure that her admiration was show by liking a backstage video from the "Look at Her Now" songstress' makeup artist Hung Vanngo on Instagram. In the clip, Selena was seen showing off her gorgeous, glitter-clad eyes and flawless makeup while donning a metallic romper for her "Look at Her Now" performance at the award-giving event which marked her TV performance return after two years.
Of inspirations behind "Lose You to Love Me", Selena previously said, "This song was inspired by many things that have happened in my life since releasing my last album. I want people to feel hope and to know you will come out the other side stronger and a better version of yourself."
