AceShowbiz - "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane and acting icon Cicely Tyson have been selected for induction into the Television Academy's Hall of Fame.

The Class of 2020 also features Disney boss Bob Iger, "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" director Jay Sandrich, and Nickelodeon and Oxygen network co-founder Geraldine Laybourne, who will be celebrated in Hollywood on 28 January.

A statement released by Television Academy chairman Frank Scherma reads: "These contemporary performers, content creators and executives have been pioneers and innovators in so many aspects of television; and they have had a profound impact on their art and on our culture."

"It's an honor to welcome this distinguished group of individuals into the Hall of Fame and to acknowledge their remarkable contributions, which continue to shape our industry."

Previous stars inducted into the Television Academy's Hall of Fame, which was founded in 1984, include Shonda Rhimes, Joan Rivers, Diahann Carroll, Cloris Leachman, and Candice Bergen.
