After fellow actor Adam DeVine used the term to comment on his latest Instagram post, the ex-husband of Miley Cyrus admits to using the search engine to discover what it meant.

AceShowbiz - Liam Hemsworth turned to Google after his latest Instagram snap was labelled a "thirst trap".

"The Hunger Games" actor shared a photo of himself with his beloved dog Dora on his account, as the pair enjoyed some down time together out by the coast in his native Australia.

"Me and my best friend Dora. Good god I love this dog," the 29-year-old captioned the sepia-filtered post.

However, things took a confusing turn for the star when his comedian pal Adam DeVine jumped in on the comments, quipping: "Thirst TRAP."

Despite his undisputed good looks, the star confessed he had to search the term, used to describe a provocative photo posted on social media to attract attention, because he was unsure what it meant.

"I just googled thirst trap. 100% true," he responded, knowingly adding a winking face emoji.

Following his split from wife Miley Cyrus, "The Last Song" actor has been keeping his head down - spending time at home with brothers Chris Hemsworth and Luke Hemsworth.

Liam was recently spotted cosying up to "Dynasty" actress Maddison Brown in New York, but the actress refused to confirm the dating rumours, telling Britain's The Daily Telegraph newspaper she's keen to keep her personal life private.
