AceShowbiz - MTV's "Teen Mom 2" apparently is struggling after it fired star Jenelle Evans back in May. According to a new report, the MTV reality TV show is having a rating crisis which prompts the executives to consider bringing Jenelle back to the series.

Radar Online reports that season 9, which doesn't feature Jenelle, premiered on September 10 to 810,000 viewers. That was a huge, shocking drop compared to the previous season which garnered 1.18 million viewers in its premiere night.

As if that's not disappointing enough, the ratings keep plummetting. In the October 29 premiere, the show barely brought in 650,000 viewers. An insider spills to the site, "Jenelle has been talking to MTV and it has been about her coming back," adding that the mother of three "has been talking to MTV for a few weeks."

Jenelle was fired in the wake of now-estranged husband David Eason's dog killing scandal in which he reportedly shot and killed Jenelle's French bulldog Nugget. "MTV ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has not filmed any new episodes of 'Teen Mom 2' with him since," a spokesperson for the network said at the time. "Additionally, we have stopped filming with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019 and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season."

According to a report, MTV executives told Jenelle's manager that David shooting Nugget to death was the last straw. They allegedly feared he was out of control and wanted no part in what they saw as a looming disaster.

Last month, Jenelle announced that she filed for a divorce from David and had obtained temporary restraining order against David. "Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know that's what is best for me, and for my kids. Today I've filed papers to start that process. I appreciate the support from everybody who has asked how I am. Me and the kids are doing great. We need some time to be together, but you'll hear from us again soon," she wrote in a statement.
