AceShowbiz - "Babe" star James Cromwell spent Halloween in custody following his arrest at a PETA protest in Texas.
The actor and activist was demanding an end to Texas A&M University's canine muscular dystrophy experiments when he was detained by police officers and escorted off campus.
The Emmy winner and other activists were trying to disrupt a Board of Regents meeting on Thursday, October 31, while calling on the school to shut down a laboratory where golden retrievers and other dogs, bred to have canine muscular dystrophy, struggle to "walk, swallow, and even breathe."
"Texas A&M continues to torment golden retrievers and other dogs, even though decades of these experiments have not led to a cure for humans with muscular dystrophy," says Cromwell. "It's time to let the dogs out, and my friends at PETA and I want them released to good homes where they can live out the rest of their lives in peace."
