The 'Coming to America' actor reveals on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' the question the former president threw at him back in 2015 when they met at the White House.

AceShowbiz - Eddie Murphy has revealed it was former U.S. President Barack Obama who prompted him to return to his stand-up comedy roots.
The 58-year-old actor and comedian will return to host American sketch TV series "Saturday Night Live" for the first time in 35 years on December 21 before heading out on the road in 2020.
Speaking on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Friday, October 25, the "Beverly Hills Cop" star revealed Barack encouraged him to get back into stand-up.
"When are you going to do stand up again?" he asked Eddie back in 2015, when they met at the White House where the star was honoured with the Mark Twain Award by the 44th U.S. leader.
"So I said, 'Maybe it's time to do stand-up again,' " he went on to reveal.
The "Coming to America" actor recently told U.S. breakfast show "Today" his upcoming sets will be different to his previous material, explaining, "Last time I did stand-up, I was 27 years old. I look at some of my old stuff and cringe... Sometimes it's just, 'I can't believe I said that! Oh my God!' "
"I'm 58 now so I don't think I'm going to approach it the same way."
It has been reported Eddie's planned tour will tie in with a series of Netflix stand-up comedy specials.
