AceShowbiz - Travis Scott (II) has yet to break his silence on his split from Kylie Jenner, though he appears to hint at the issues that the now-exes have through his new song. Titled "Highest in the Room", the song made its way out on Thursday, October 3, just days after news broke that the couple had broken up after two years together.
There are some lines on the song that people believe are about the strife in their relationship. "She saw my eyes, she know I'm gone/ I've seen some things that you might fear/ I'm doing a show, I'll be back soon," the Grammy-nominated rapper can be heard rapping on the song, which was first teased in a Kylie Cosmetics commercial video back in April. "That ain't what she wanna hear."
Accompanying the release of the song is its music video. Directed by Travis himself and Dave Meyers, the dark visuals opens with the rapper smoking while standing underneath a cluster of storm clouds, before the scene changes to show him waking up to a room full of people wearing ski masks. After going to a strip club and fighting a robot, Travis ends the video by standing on top of a building.
Considering Travis and Kylie's headline-making split, "Highest in the Room" soon became a hot topic on social media. "Highest in the room is basically Travis talking about his complex relationship with Kylie," one said. Some others, meanwhile, believed that their split was just a publicity stunt to promote the song, with some joking that Kris Jenner was the one behind this plan.
"The devil works hard but Kris Jenner works harder," someone said, as another similarly wrote, "This Travis Kylie s**t is just another marketing scheme for Travis, he need that 'Highest in the room' to chart and go platinum ASAP. Kris Jenner probably his manager behind the scenes."
Kylie confirmed her split from Travis on Thursday, writing, "Travis and I are on great terms and our main focus right now is Stormi!! Our friendship and our daughter is priority."
