AceShowbiz - Tekashi69 (6ix9ine) has reportedly turned down the opportunity to enter the United States Federal Witness Protection Program.
Last week, end September 22, the embattled rapper testified against fellow members of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang - with whom he helped try to kill a rival gang member - as part of a plea bargain to avoid a potential 47-year prison sentence.
While the star, real name Daniel Hernandez, was mocked by fellow rapper Snoop Dogg for being a "snitch", TMZ reported he has rejected an offer to enter the program as he plans to start up his musical career again once freed.
The publication added that, instead of government funding, he'll provide his own security team, although it remains unknown how he'll foot the bill for the constant surveillance. His attorney Dawn Florio responded "no comment" when approached by TMZ.
Although he's currently behind bars as prosecutors fear for his safety, Tekashi apparently believes he'll be able to pick up his music career once he's out of jail - and suggested he'll be out as early as next year as part of the plea bargain.
Meanwhile, the trial against the star is expected to wrap up on Thursday, and the entire process will be documented in the upcoming Snapchat series "Tekashi69 Vs The World", which is expected to drop soon.
