Court documents uncover that the 'Stronger' rapper, who is days away from releasing 'Jesus Is King', and the music publishing company are expected to 'finalize their settlement within 90 days.'

AceShowbiz - Kanye West has settled a contract lawsuit with his publisher, EMI, just days before the release of his new album, "Jesus Is King".

According to court documents, obtained by Rolling Stone, the rapper and EMI Publishing bosses have reached an agreement in principle to end their eight-month legal spat.

"The Parties expect to draft and finalize a settlement agreement within 90 days," a statement reads. Details of the deal have not been revealed.

West sparked the feud when he sued EMI Music Publishing, Universal Music Group, Roc-A-Fella and Def Jam as he sought to find a way out of a contract he'd signed with EMI back in 2004. The rap star claimed that under California labour law, he could only be held to a personal service contract for seven years.

West's new album is scheduled for release on Friday, September 27.
