The '21 Jump Street' star is rumored to play one of Batman's villains in the Matt Reeves-directed movie, while the 'Westworld' actor is said to tackle a protagonist character.

AceShowbiz - Robert Pattinson's Batman is close to getting a foe and an ally. Jonah Hill and Jeffrey Wright are reported to be in talks for roles in Warner Bros. / DC Comics' "The Batman" from director Matt Reeves.

According to Deadline which first reported Hill's casting news, the "Superbad" actor is offered a role of a villain in the upcoming reboot. The Hollywood Reporter confirms the news, adding that "the talks with Hill are at an early and sensitive stage, not because of dealmaking but because the two sides can't decide which character the actor will play."

Sources tell the site that the "This Is the End" star is mulling over the role of either the Penguin or the Riddler. Now the two sides need to find common ground to decide which character that Hill will tackle.

As for Wright, he is said to be in early talks to play Commissioner James Gordon. The character was famously portrayed by Gary Oldman in Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy and most recently seen on the big screen played by J.K. Simmons in "Justice League".

Hill has proven his acting skills to play comedic roles in films such as "Knocked Up" (2007), "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" (2008), "Get Him to the Greek" (2010), "21 Jump Street" (2012) and "This Is the End" (2013), as well as more serious roles in "Moneyball" (2011) and "The Wolf of Wall Street" (2013).

Wright, meanwhile, is best known for his Tony- and Emmy-winning role as Belize in the Broadway production and HBO miniseries "Angels in America". He has been featured as Felix Leiter in James Bond movies "Casino Royale", "Quantum of Solace" and will reprise the role in "No Time to Die". He also starred as Beetee in "The Hunger Games" film and is currently as series regular on HBO's "Westworld" where he plays Bernard Lowe.

Reeves' "The Batman" will focus on a younger Bruce Wayne than he was in previous movies. He will direct the movie based on the script that he writes himself. Filming is expected to begin in London this fall for June 25, 2021 release.
