Weeks earlier, the 'Wild for the Night' rapper and his two associates were ordered to pay restitution and court costs following an altercation with a 19-year-old in Stockholm back in June.

AceShowbiz - A$AP Rocky won't face harsher sanctions for his assault conviction in Sweden, as prosecutors have decided not to appeal his conditional sentence.

The 30-year-old musician, real name Rakim Mayers, and two associates were handed conditional sentences by a Swedish court earlier this month and ordered to pay restitution and court costs following an altercation with a 19-year-old in Stockholm in June.

Public prosecutor Daniel Suneson announced on Tuesday, August 27 that he would not be appealing the sentence, acknowledging the court's decision that it was not proven whether Rocky or his associates had used bottles as a weapon during the fight.

"I have accepted the District Court's evaluation of the evidence, in as much as the use of whole or broken bottles during the assault has not been proven," Suneson said.

Dismissing plans for an appeal, he added: "All three defendants have in fact been brought to justice for assault and the District Court has dismissed the plea of self-defence, something that I believe was important to clarify in this particular case."

The case sparked interest from across the world, including Rocky's native U.S., as the hip-hop star was detained for nearly a month before facing trial.

Celebrities including Justin Bieber, Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian all called for the musician's release - with Kim and Kanye even bringing Rocky's plight to the attention of U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump then demanded Sweden's Prime Minister Stefan Lofven intervene to free the rapper - a plea that was rejected.
