Other notable performances at the Sebastian Maniscalco-hosted event include Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello's rendition of their hit 'Senorita' and Missy Elliott's medley performance.

AceShowbiz - More performers took the stage at the 2019 MTV Video Awards that was held at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on Monday, August 26. Miley Cyrus was among those whose performance was anticipated by a lot of people, belting out her latest single "Slide Away" that people speculated was about Liam Hemsworth for the first time.

Unlike other performances, her entire TV set was cast in black and white. Miley was accompanied by violinists who sat in formation behind her when she sang the tune of the somber track, breaking a lot of people's hearts. "So won't you slide away/ Back to the ocean, I'll go back to the city lights," she emotionally sang. "So won't you slide away/ Back to the ocean, la la la, you'll slide away."

In contrary to Miley's emotional performance, Jonas Brothers' set was undoubtedly one who made the audience and viewers at home dance. Marking their return to the annual ceremony after eleven years, the siblings band kicked things off with a rendition of "Sucker" that they performed in front of a packed audience at the Stone Pony.

During the second verse of the hit single, Jonas Brothers started walking out of the venue and headed towards a stage on Asbury Park's boardwalk. Following the performance, the three-piece band launched into their latest single "Only Human".

Other notable performances at the award show included Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello's "Senorita" and Missy Elliott's medley performance. The honoree of this year's Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award proved she's worthy of the honor when she brought people through her hits, starting from her days-old track "Throw It Back" and "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)". She also got many dancing with her mega hit "Get Ur Freak On" and "Work It".

The 2019 MTV Video Music Awards was hosted by Sebastian Maniscalco.
