When announcing the new name for her 'control underwear' line, the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star gushes that she is grateful for the ideas she received from fans.

AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian has officially renamed her shapewear collection after upsetting fans by previously calling the line Kimono.

The KKW Beauty boss was accused of cultural appropriation by Japanese activists when she first launched the collection of skin-tone coloured 'control underwear' in June, so she agreed to rethink the name and relabel the garments that had already been made with the Kimono logo printed inside.

"Because I wanted everything to be really seamless and feel really good, we printed everything inside all of the garments," the star explained in a series of videos on Instagram Stories. "So now I have to come up with a solution and not be wasteful because we have printed almost two million garments so far with the Kimono name."

The new shapewear line will now be called Skims.

Announcing the new name on Monday (August 26), the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" beauty said, "My fans and followers are a huge inspiration to me - I'm always listening to their feedback and opinions, and am so grateful they shared their ideas for a new brand name."

"After much thought and consideration, I'm excited to announce the launch of @SKIMS Solutionwear coming September 10. I love the idea that the pieces will be the closest thing to someone's skin."
