The 'Hobbs and Shaw' actor seems interested in 'Deadpool' comic book creator Rob Liefeld's idea of him joining the movie franchise for a future installment.

AceShowbiz - "Deadpool" could be the next big movie franchise that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson infiltrates. Having led the recently released "The Fast and the Furious" spin-off, the wrestler-turned-actor teases his possible involvement in the "Deadpool" franchise.

"Deadpool" comic book creator Rob Liefeld recently reached out to the "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" star via Instagram to propose an idea about him joining "Deadpool 3". The writer even suggested the role that Johnson should play.

"Dearest @therock based on reports of outstanding chemistry between you and a familiar friend, I believe the next logical step is for you to join the Marvel Universe as Garrison Kane in a future Deadpool installment," Liefeld wrote along with a picture collage of Johnson and Garrison Kane action figure. "You're a natural and Kane is already celebrated by millions of comics fans who have thrilled to his adventures since I first introduced him in X-Force #2! Your pal, Rob!"

Johnson is seemingly interested in the idea proposed by Liefeld. He responded to the offer via Twitter, "Dearest Rob, thank you amigo. It's true, in @HobbsAndShaw, I have insanely outstanding chemistry with our familiar friend. Since you created the characters, how does one Garrison Kane get alone with one."

Garrison Kane, also known as Weapon X and Kane, is a former member of Cable's mercenary team called Six Pack. He lost his limbs in battle and was given cybernetic replacements that provide him with superhuman strength. He was first introduced in "X-Force" #2, which was published in 1991.

David Leitch, who directed "Deadpool 2" and "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw", recently talked to Yahoo Movies about the Merc with the Mouth joining MCU following Fox acquisition by Disney. "It's rated R, so that's not necessarily the [MCU] brand, but he doesn't necessarily need to be R and [Disney] don't necessarily need to only make PG-13 movies," he said. "I think we'll find a happy ground."

"Deadpool 3", however, is not included in the MCU Phase 4 lineup that was announced by Marvel several weeks ago.
