The 'Can't Be Tamed' singer jokes she and Selena are heading to Area 51 as she joins in on the viral meme with a throwback picture of her and her 'Hannah Montana' co-star dressing as aliens.

AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus is enlisting Selena Gomez to partake in viral "Raid Area 51" joke. On Tuesday, July 16, the 26-year-old singer/actress joined in on the Twitter meme by sharing a throwback picture of her and her fellow Disney alum dressing as aliens.

The photo was taken from her "Hannah Montana" days, during the filming of one episode in which they wore bright blue alien costumes. On the Disney Channel series, Selena played Hannah's arch-rival Mikayla.

"Me & @selenagomez on our way to Area 51," Miley wrote along with the picture, as she poked out her tongue. She and Selena also flashed a V sign to the camera.

That wasn't the only throwback picture that Miley has shared in honor of the "Raid Area 51" joke. The "Younger Now" singer also posted a selfie of her with a green alien while she was dressed up as a burger. "That one time @ Area 51," she captioned it.

In another snap, she was seen kissing someone dressing as an alien with a big head. She wrote along with the image, "I'm a bad influence even to the aliens #Area51."

The viral "Raid Area 51" meme started with a Facebook joke event titled "Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us", which was created by a group called S**tposting cause im in shambles. The post invited people to gather at 3 P.M. on September 20 and storm the Area 51 Alien Center in order to "see them aliens."

The joke has garnered responses from more than 1.1 million people, who claimed that they would be attending the event. Kevin Jonas has also joined in the fun on social media, where people have posted a bunch of memes.

Meanwhile, Air Force spokeswoman Laura McAndrews has released a statement to USA Today to warn people who intend to storm the area, which many people believe are conspiratorial secrets of the military installation in Nevada.

"The Nevada Test and Training Range is an area where the Air Force tests and trains combat aircraft," McAndrews said on Tuesday. "Any attempt to illegally access military installations or military training areas is dangerous."
