During an interview for 'Today', the 'Gone Girl' actress also opens up about the kinds of body-shaming comments she received online whenever she promotes her Inamorata swimwear line.

AceShowbiz - Emily Ratajkowski has learned to ignore online comments about her "weird" belly button.

The model/actress regularly posts shots of her posing in barely-there swimwear on Instagram, but often receives mean messages about the shape of her navel, comments which began when she was a child.

"It's sort of a half-innie-outie. I got made fun of for it in elementary school, so it was a long road to loving my belly button," she said in a recent interview for America's "Today" programme. "I remember being very triggered hearing that "it looks like a peace sign" when I was, like, seven years old... or "What went wrong when you were born that you have such a weird belly button."

The "Gone Girl" actress went on to explain she isn't so bothered by the attention now but added that she does find it strange that online trolls find the need to post something rude about her body every time she uploads a snap on social media to promote her Inamorata swimwear line.

"I get so many comments. I'm sure on every picture where you can see my belly button on Instagram, there's probably at least five belly button comments. But, like, my belly button? That's just such a funny thing to even think about; we can't take it too seriously," the 28-year-old sighed. "The comments I get on Instagram are insane. I get all kinds of body-shaming comments. They criticise everything about me and in every direction."

"It's like too skinny, too fat, too short, too tall, ribs stick out, lips are too big, nose is weird, whatever. I just really have learned to ignore them, but it's not easy."
