Teaming up with business associate Michael Rubin for the new venture, the 'All Eyes on You' hitmaker will design and develop his own line of hats that is expected to be launched in August.

AceShowbiz - Rapper Meek Mill has become the co-owner of his favourite baseball hat company.

The 32-year-old is teaming up with business associate Michael Rubin as the joint head of Lids, and admits he has been a fan of the retailer for years.

"I've been shopping at Lids my whole life, wearing hats, fitted, of course... all types of hats," he told Business Insider. "In our culture, it's been a big thing, so it was something I ain't have to think twice about (sic)."

The "All Eyes on You" hitmaker will launch his new business venture by designing and developing his own line of hats, which are slated to drop in August.

"I have a lot of influence, and I can see things kind of clearer," he explains. "I would definitely love to involve our whole culture in Lids more. The first thing we do in merchandise in hip hop, we sell hats."

The star is having a busy year - Meek is hard at work on the documentary series "Free Meek", which will shed light on his experiences with the criminal justice system, while the rapper has also been collecting accolades for his humanitarian work, including the Vanguard for Social Justice Award earlier this month in New York.

He was also recognised for his advocacy work in March, when he was saluted with his own day in Atlanta, Georgia after picking up similar honours in Texas, Connecticut and his native Pennsylvania.
