In a candid interview with Elle magazine, the World Cup-winning goalkeeper reveals that she had to have her fallopian tube removed in 2018 as a result of an ectopic pregnancy.

AceShowbiz - U.S. soccer star Hope Solo is lucky to be alive after suffering a miscarriage which almost cost her her life last year (2018).

The World Cup-winning goalkeeper opened up about the tragedy in a candid interview with Elle magazine, revealing she had been trying to conceive with her husband, Jerramy Stevens, for some time before discovering she was pregnant and then losing their baby in February, 2018.

She was still in excruciating pain a week after the tragedy, and her doctor subsequently discovered she had been carrying twins, although one egg had become stuck in her fallopian tube - resulting in an ectopic pregnancy.

"The doctor said I was hours from dying," she recalled to the publication. "They ended up having to remove my fallopian tube."

The 37-year-old has since turned to in vitro fertilisation (IVF) to help her have a child with Stevens, who she wed in 2012.
