The character, originally called 'Him' in the Marvel comic books, is teased in 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' when Ayesha of the Sovreign created a perfect being to take her revenge on the Guardians.

AceShowbiz - After singing, dancing and playing a serial killer, Zac Efron could be landing a high-profile role by joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor is rumored to be eyed to star in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" as Adam Warlock.

Adam Warlock, then known only as "Him", was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and first appeared in "Fantastic Four" #66-67. He was created by a group of Earth scientists called the Enclave as part of their effort to develop an army of perfect, invincible humans, but rebelled against them after knowing their evil intention.

He's known for his ability to create a cocoon around himself that protects and heals his body, even resurrecting him from apparent death. After a brutal encounter with Thor, Him encased himself in another cocoon and was eventually found by the human geneticist known as the High Evolutionary. The High Evolutionary gave Him the new name Warlock and he defended the High Evolutionary from the Man-Beast.

Details of Efron's possible involvement in the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" sequel are currently not available. Warlock was teased in the 2018 movie when Ayesha of the Sovreign (Elizabeth Debicki) created a perfect being to take her revenge on the Guardians. This means Warlock and High Evolutionary could serve as the main villain in the upcoming third movie.

Previously, alleged leaked details of "GOTG Vol. 3" revealed that the High Evolutionary is Rocket Raccoon's creator and that Rocket would fall in love with another of the High Evolutionary's experiments, Lylla. The movie will reportedly feature Beta Ray Bill, who is possibly an experiment of the High Evolutionary as well.

Meanwhile, Drax would reportedly learn that his daughter is still alive and his entire family had not been killed by Thanos. The movie may also feature Quasar, a Marvel superhero character who gains power from the Quantum Band he wears.

At the end of "Avengers: Endgame", Thor (Chris Hemsworth) joins the Guardians and boards Peter Quill a.k.a. Star Lord's (Chris Pratt) spaceship. Peter is featured trying to locate a version of Gamora from the past.

James Gunn has been reinstated as director for "GOTG Vol. 3", but he won't be working on the movie until he finishes "The Suicide Squad". The movie currently has no release date.

Efron recently stars as notorious real-life serial killer Ted Bundy in the controversial movie "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile". He also landed a role in 2017's hit musical "The Greatest Showman" and in Harmony Korine's "The Beach Bum".
