AceShowbiz - It turns out Kelly Clarkson is not feeling as awesome as she previously said after her appendix surgery. Taking to Twitter on Sunday, May 5, the 37-year old "American Idol" alum offered an update on her recovery journey following the surgery, admitting that she got so bored she couldn't rest well.
"Quick recap... recovering after surgery super duper sucks," she said on the blue bird app. "Turns out I don't 'rest' well (so bored), pain meds make me feel a different kind of horrible where I question if I's just rather feel the pain instead." Making a "Harry Potter"-inspired joke, Kelly added, "2 out of the 3 scars feel as if Lord Voldemort is always near."
Many of her followers prayed for her speedy recovery in the reply section, while some others said that they could understand how she felt as they had experienced the same before. There were also individuals who offered several suggestions to help "The Voice" coach cope with boredom.
Kelly checked into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles to undergo the emergency surgery after suffering from appendicitis for days. Even though she could have underwent the surgery early, she decided to do it after hosting the 2019 Billboard Music Awards because she didn't want to let her health issue ruin her big night.
Confirming news of her surgery on Twitter, Kelly admitted that she cried due to the pain backstage, but was feeling good after undergoing the procedure. "Not gonna lie... I may or may not have broken down in tears after the show from pain," she said. "BUT thanks 2 all the amazing people @ Cedars-Sinai I flew home directly after the event, nailed the surgery early this morning & feeling awesome now! Bye bye appendix."
Kelly followed it up with several tweets thanking the team who helped her host the 2019 Billboard Music Awards for the second time, perform new track "Broken & Beautiful" and put together the music medley she sang to kick off the event.
