Back in 2017 in an article published The New Yorker magazine, the actress famous for her Gloria Trillo role on 'The Sopranos' accused the disgraced film producer of violently raping her.

AceShowbiz - Annabella Sciorra is expected to testify at Harvey Weinstein's upcoming sex-assault trial.

According to the New York Post's Page Six, the 59-year-old "Sopranos" star is one of a handful of witnesses that Justice James Burke has ruled could testify against the disgraced movie mogul to prove a pattern of behaviour - even though he's not charged with crimes against them.

Sciorra, who starred in the hit HBO mob series, publicly accused Weinstein of violently raping her in a New Yorker magazine article back in 2017.

Weinstein was indicted on charges he forcibly performed oral sex on production assistant Mimi Haleyi in 2006 and raped a longtime lover in a Manhattan hotel in 2013.

According to court papers, Sciorra's allegations will help bolster the most serious charge against Weinstein: predatory sexual assault, for which he faces up to life in prison. The charge requires at least two serious sex crimes against separate victims to be proved.

The case is slated to go to trial on September 9.
