News of the 'Paper Roses' singer's possibility in joining the talk show's panel comes months after she and her brother, Donny Osmond, announced the end of their Las Vegas residency.

AceShowbiz - Marie Osmond is reportedly close to signing a new TV deal and replacing Sara Gilbert on U.S. TV panel show "The Talk".

Sources close to the show, which also features Sharon Osbourne and rapper and actress Eve, tell TMZ the casting news will be revealed on the daily talk show on Tuesday, May 07.

Marie is not new to the show and has successfully guest hosted in the past. The singer and entertainer also hosted her own chat show with brother Donny Osmond from 1998 to 2000.

The Osmonds recently announced they were wrapping up their residency at the Flamingo Casino & Resort in Las Vegas after 11 years.

The pair's hit revue was supposed to run for just six weeks back in 2008, but it has been pulling in fans for well over a decade - and now the siblings have decided it's time to end the show. The curtain will come down on the act in November.

Making the announcement on "Good Morning America" in March, Donny said, "It's official. It's very hard to say."

And his sister admitted it will be tough to say goodbye to the fans: "They've come from all over the world to see us here in Vegas," she explained.

The final show will take place on November 16 and Marie revealed she plans to take on some acting work after the Vegas run ends.

"Roseanne" star Gilbert announced her decision to leave "The Talk" as a regular last month. She was among those who came up with the concept for the programme, which launched in October, 2010. She is also an executive producer.
