Alabama student Nigel Shelby, 15, had been targeted for being homosexual and his suicide hit the headlines over the weekend, prompting the likes of Bieber and Monae to offer up their thoughts on the tragedy.

Justin took to Instagram on Tuesday, April 23 and posted a headline about Shelby's death, adding the caption: "I hate this with a passion... stop the hatred please! I don't understand how people can be so ignorant and hateful."

Angry Monae turned on the parents of the kids who drove Shelby to end his life: "The kids some of you are raising and teaching or NOT TEACHING did this," she wrote. "They bullied him. Let that sink in."
