Sharing a public apology to Dan Reynolds and his bandmates via Twitter, Mark Foster praises the 'Believer' frontman as 'one of the good guys' and credits him for all his humanitarian works.

AceShowbiz - Foster the People lead singer Mark Foster has apologised to Imagine Dragons for criticising the band in the past.

The musician shared a heartfelt note to frontman Dan Reynolds and his bandmates via Twitter on Wednesday, April 11, revealing he has had time to reflect on his comments and now takes them all back.

"i have been burdened by something i feel i need to amend," he shared. "i would like to apologize to dan reynolds and his band imagine dragons. in a passing moment last year i let some words come out of my mouth that don’t reflect who i am, or what i stand for."

Foster joked during an iHeartRadio interview that he gives all of his sub-par material to Imagine Dragons to record.

In February, Reynolds admitted that criticism from his music industry peers is hard to take at times, stating: "I've gotten over the fact that guys in other bands (The 1975, Foster the People, The Smashing Pumpkins, Slipknot etc) feel a need to talk badly about my band for whatever reason."

"I don't feel anger towards them actually, just more of sadness that this industry embraces, even celebrates this mentality. I wish it felt like a place where artists stood by each other and supported one another - regardless of our different tastes and voices."

Foster addressed the "Believer" hitmaker's candid post in his tweet, adding: "When dan posted his open letter speaking from the heart about how the negative words from other artists have affected him, it convinced me... He's right. as people with platforms there comes a responsibility to lead by example."

The star ended his note with words of praise for Reynolds' advocacy work for gay, lesbian, transgender, and bisexual rights: "Everything that I have read about what Dan is doing as a humanitarian is moving," he shared. "I believe he's one of the good guys. It takes a lot of courage to stand for something. building something is infinitely harder than destroying something. nobody has ever erected a statue of a critic."
