AceShowbiz - Rapper French Montana has been accused of ripping off a producer for his 2013 single "Ain't Worried About Nothin'".
The track featured on Montana's debut album, "Excuse My French", but now he is facing a lawsuit from Eddie Lee Richardson, aka Hotwire the Producer, who claims the tune was stolen.
In court papers, Richardson reveals he uploaded his own song, called "*Hood* Pushin' Weight", as an instrumental, which featured a "unique and artistic array of digital sounds and rhythms".
It was uploaded to streaming site SoundClick in 2012, but Richardson attempted to protect his work from unauthorised use by having the word "Hotwire" repeated throughout.
However, when Montana's "Ain't Worried About Nothin'" dropped in 2013, he reportedly recognised the backing track as his own, with the hip-hop star's lyrics and vocals simply layered on top, according to TMZ.
Richardson is now suing Montana for $5 million (£3.8 million) over what he insists are striking similarities.
A representative for Montana has yet to comment on the lawsuit.
