AceShowbiz - Marilyn Monroe's troubled last few months are set to be recreated for a new TV drama series.
The project, which has the working title "The Last Days of Marilyn Monroe", aims to explore her professional relationships with Hollywood studio chiefs as her career began to falter, and her personal ties to former U.S. President John F. Kennedy and his brother, Robert F. Kennedy, who were both heavily rumoured to have had affairs with the actress.
The show, developed by bosses at BBC Studios, will be loosely based on Keith Badman's 2010 book, "The Final Years of Marilyn Monroe: The Shocking True Story".
Writer/producer Dan Sefton has been tapped to pen the series.
"In the last few months of her life, Marilyn was sincerely loved, callously betrayed, cynically filled with hope and ultimately cruelly abandoned," BBC Studios executive producer Anne Pivcevic shares in a statement. "Her death changed the lives of everyone in her orbit and cemented her status as a legend."
The "Some Like It Hot" actress died from a drug overdose in 1962, aged 36.
