AceShowbiz - Elisabeth Hasselbeck used to have a bad moment with former "The View" co-host Barbara Walters. It was apparently so bad that the former threatened to storm off the daytime talk show and just let the news of her exiting be "in the New York f***ing Post!"

Ramin Setoodeh claimed in his new book "Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of 'The View' " that the incident happened in 2006. It went down after conservative Hasselbeck got into a heated exchange with Walters over the "morning-after pill."

Hassellbeck allegedly said, "I believe that life begins at the moment of conception," but was later cut off by Walters. The former then stormed off during a commercial break.

Setoodeh went on revealing that in a leaked tape, Hasselbeck told co-host Joy Behar how Walters "is driving me nuts." She allegedly ranted, "What the f**k! I don't even swear. She has me swearing. This woman is driving me nuts. I'm not going back. I can't do the show like this. She just reprimanded me, and she knew exactly what she was doing."

She continued, "Goodbye! I'm off. Read about that in the New York f***ing Post!"

It was also said that she told former executive producer Bill Geddie, "I'm quitting. I don't need to be reprimanded on the air like that by this woman. I will take it in the meeting. I will not take that on the air. I'm leaving."

Despite the meltdown, Hasselbeck stayed on the morning show until 2013. The book went on claiming that the hard feelings were still there since Hasselbeck allegedly "turned down ABC's request" when Walters wanted to do a reunion back in 2016.

However, Hasselbeck is scheduled to make a return on the show. It is said that she will be guesting in the Tuesday, March 26 episode of "The View" to promote her own new book, "Point of View". Meanwhile, Setoodeh's "Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of 'The View' " is slated to hit the shelves on April 2 via Thomas Dunne Books.
