After pointing out why 'being a woman is truly, constantly scary,' the Tahani Al-Jamil depicter on 'The Good Place' encourages people to change the way they see rejection as a society.

AceShowbiz - Actress Jameela Jamil was once punched in the face by a man after she rejected his advances.
"The Good Place" star was 19 when she made it clear she wasn't interested in a potential suitor, who lost his cool when she couldn't explain why she didn't want to date him.
"I didn't have an excuse... and he punched me in the face," she recalled on Twitter. "After that, whether or not I have a boyfriend, I say I do. Being a woman is truly, constantly scary. It's like existing on thin ice."

And Jamil, who has been dating singer songwriter James Blake since 2016, has urged men to be more confident and accept a romantic turndown with grace.
We need to teach children about rejection, so that we can change the way we see rejection as a society. We need to de stigmatize it, so that it doesn’t feel like the ground is swallowing you up when someone says no, however nicely. This would lessen their need to lash out.
