The 'Twilight Saga' star and the 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' actress are reportedly joining John David Washington, who is cast in the lead role for the 'Dunkirk' helmer's next film.

AceShowbiz - Christopher Nolan is rounding out the cast of his upcoming movie with more names being added to the line-up. Robert Pattinson and Elizabeth Debicki are reportedly tapped to star in the mysterious project, which is being developed at Warner Bros.

Pattinson and Debicki join "BlacKkKlansman" star John David Washington, who was earlier cast in the lead role. Words are Pattinson will play the second male lead. Collider additionally reports that there will be an age-appropriate female lead, possibly the part that went to Debicki, as well as an older male co-star.

Little is known about the movie, which will serve as the follow-up to Nolan's 2017 critically-acclaimed World War II drama "Dunkirk". One insider describes the pic "as a massive action blockbuster, which will again be shown in Imax," according to Variety. There's also a speculation that the upcoming film could a sequel of sorts to Nolan's 2010 sci-fi hit "Inception", but it's not confirmed.

Nolan penned the script of the untitled movie and is producing with his wife and longtime collaborator, Emma Thomas. Production is expected to start this summer for a scheduled release of July 17, 2020 in the United States.

Pattinson started his film career by playing Cedric Diggory in 2005's "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire". He rose to worldwide fame after portraying vampire Edward Cullen in the "Twilight" movie series based on Stephenie Meyer's novels. In recent years, he has generally avoided tentpole fair, with his recent films including "Maps to the Stars" (2014), "Queen of the Desert" (2015) and "The Lost City of Z" (2016). He will next be seen in "High Life", "The Lighthouse", "The King" and "Waiting for the Barbarians", all expected to bow later this year.

As for Debicki, she appeared in "The Great Gatsby" (2013) for which she won the AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. She also starred in "Macbeth" (2015), "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." (2015), "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" and Netflix's movie "The Cloverfield Paradox", in addition to lending her voice for a character in "Peter Rabbit". She is expected to reprise her role as Ayesha, the leader of the Sovereign people, in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3".
