AceShowbiz - Ryan Reynolds is among those who are excited about the 20th Century Fox acquisition by Disney. As the deal officially closes on Wednesday, March 13 after midnight, the Canadian actor took to Instagram hours earlier to celebrate the merger.
The 42-year-old hunk, who stars in "Deadpool" movie franchise developed at Fox, marked the historical moment in a very Deadpool way. He posted on his social media pages a picture of his character wearing a Mickey hat with the mouse ears while riding a bus with "Disney" plastered on the side. "Feels like the first day of 'Pool," he wrote in the caption.

Walt Disney Co. Chief Executive Bob Iger finalized the $71.3-billion purchase of much of Rupert Murdoch's 21st Century Fox on late Tuesday. When the deal goes into effect, Disney will take possession of assets including Twentieth Century Fox, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Fox 2000 Pictures, Fox Family and Fox Animation; Fox’s television creative units, Twentieth Century Fox Television, FX Productions and Fox21; FX Networks; National Geographic Partners; Fox Networks Group International; Star India; and Fox's interests in Hulu, Tata Sky and Endemol Shine Group.
Disney released a statement regarding the completion of the deal, "This is an extraordinary and historic moment for us -- one that will create significant long-term value for our company and our shareholders. Combining Disney's and 21st Century Fox's wealth of creative content and proven talent creates the preeminent global entertainment company, well positioned to lead in an incredibly dynamic and transformative era."
It remains to be seen what this acquisition means for Fox's R-rated movies like "Deadpool", but Iger said in a conference call with investors at the end of 2017 when the news of the acquisition broke that there would be an "opportunity for an R-rated Marvel brand as long as we let audiences know what's coming."
