AceShowbiz - The official full new trailer for "Hellboy (2019)" has made its way out for viewing pleasure after having been teased in a sneak peek. Packed with more action scenes, the video unleashes monsters that the title character and his team will fight against in the film.
Raised by his human adoptive father, Trevor Bruttenholm (Ian McShane), Hellboy is seemingly torn between following his demonic brethren or protecting the humans he's been living with. Serving as the temptation, Nimue the Blood Queen (Milla Jovovich) proposes an offer to Hellboy to be her king.
At one point, they are seen making out while being showered with blood. But in another moment where he apparently gets an enlightenment, Hellboy rejects her, saying that it's not going to work because he's a Capricorn and she's not.
The video also shows Major Ben Daimio (Daniel Dae Kim) transforming into his jaguar form.
The trailer is released in two versions, the red band one and the green band one. There isn't much difference in those two videos, except that the green band one doesn't include the gory and bloody parts.
David Harbour who portrays Hellboy previously hinted how violent the movie is. "This movie is gory, I mean it's like a horror movie. There's a lot of blood in it. It's brutal," he said in December. Accordingly, the movie has earned an R rating from the MPAA.
Directed by Neil Marshall, the new "Hellboy" movie follows the hero and his ragtag team of paranormal researchers, Major Ben Daimio and Alice Monaghan (Sasha Lane), who are trying to save the world from a medieval sorceress who wants to destroy humankind.
In the upcoming movie, Hellboy is depicted as hairier, angstier and more immature than he was seen before. The film will also feature a backstory that explains the reasoning behind Nimue's actions.
"Hellboy" reboot is set to be unleashed in U.S. theaters on April 12.
